Joan Farrell, Ph.D. is Co-Director of the Schema Therapy Institute Midwest, Indianapolis Center and Training Director of the IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Center for BPD Treatment. She is adjunct faculty in the department of Psychology of Purdue University (IUPUI) and the University of Indianapolis and was a clinical professor in the department of Psychiatry of Indiana University School of Medicine for 25 years.  Dr. Farrell is a licensed psychologist and Health Service Provider in Psychology who has been in  practice for 30 years, specializing in treatment for BPD for the last 20. Ida Shaw, MA is the Director of BASE Consulting Group, LLP and Co-Director of the Schema Therapy Institute Midwest, Indianapolis Center.  Ida's background in experiential psychotherapy and developmental psychology added an essential component to Group Schema Therapy.  She and Dr. Farrell developed the Group Schema Therapy for BPD model together and have worked together for 25 years. Ida is an ISST Certified Schema Therapist supervisor and the main supervisor of the international multi-site trial of Group Schema therapy, providing training and supervision for schema therapists from 5 countries and 14 clinical sites. Heather Fretwell, MD is a board certified psychiatrist and Director of the BASE Program for BPD patients at Midtown Community Mental Health Center Westside Clinic. She is president of the Indiana Psychiatric Society and a representative to the board of the American Psychiatric Association. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a psychiatry residency there. She trained with Dr. Farrell during her residency and is in training as a Schema Therapist.
